Alexandros Tagaridis. Illustrator – Graphics Designer – Teacher.

Born in Trikala, Thessaly in the fall of 1980. At an early age he expressed his interest in visual arts and specially comics.His first significant influence was Gaston Laggafe by André Franquin, his summers on the mountain and the view of the Meteora Rock Complex. His first and most important tutor was the engraver Ilias Kotsiras. He has won two awards for cartoon and painting. He studied Graphics Design at the T.E.I. of Athens, he did a semester in ceramics at “Le 75” in Brussels and a semester in sculpture at I.S.I. in Yogyakarta. His interest in pedagogics led him into the study of traditional fairytales followed by his studies on pedagogy in the School of Pedagogical and Technological Education of Thessaloniki. He has been working as a graphics designer and illustrator in advertising companies, magazines, educational books but also as a freelancer, as well as as a teacher of visual arts and DTP programs. His basic influences are André Franquin, René Goscinny, Keno Don Rosa, Paul Klee and Joan Miró.
